Day 1: Arrival in Georgetown, Guyana
Touch down in the heart of South America’s best-kept secret, where tropical warmth greets you the moment you arrive. Your guide meets you at the airport and accompanies you on the 1.5-hour drive to Georgetown, depending on traffic.
After check-in, the rest of the day is yours to settle in. Stroll along the seawall for a fresh ocean breeze, sample local street food, relax in a cosy café, or simply watch the city’s lively rhythm unfold around you. We’re happy to share our insider tips to get you started.

Day 2: Georgetown City Tour
Today’s all about getting to know Guyana’s lively capital. Georgetown is a colourful blend of history, culture, and everyday Caribbean charm. With your guide, you’ll stroll through the city’s highlights – from the National Museum and iconic cultural landmarks to the National Park, where gentle manatees wait for a snack. Spot tropical birds in the lush Botanical Gardens, browse bustling markets, and enjoy a tasty local lunch by the seawall.
After the tour, we’ll drop you back at your hotel – or at a favourite restaurant if you’re in the mood to keep exploring.

Day 3: Kaieteur Falls Adventure
Today you’ll witness one of the world’s great natural wonders – Kaieteur Falls, the planet’s most powerful single-drop waterfall. Plunging 741 feet (226 metres) into the jungle below, it’s over four times taller than Niagara and twice the height of Victoria Falls.
Your morning is free to relax before a late-morning pickup around 11am. From Ogle Airport, a short one-hour flight takes you over endless rainforest, with your first glimpse of the falls from the air. After landing, a guided walk through Kaieteur National Park reveals the area’s unique flora and fauna before you step onto the viewing platform – where the roar and sheer scale of the falls are simply unforgettable.
After soaking in the views, you’ll fly back in the late afternoon and return to your hotel. The evening is yours to unwind.

Day 4: Essequibo River Tour
Today we swap wheels for water to explore the Essequibo River – one of South America’s great waterways, winding through landscapes steeped in history.
After an early breakfast, your guide picks you up around 7am for the drive to Parika, passing villages with Dutch, English, and French names from Guyana’s colonial past. From there, we board our boat and spend the day at the river’s pace: stopping at small islands, exploring old Dutch forts, visiting Bartica, and soaking in the peaceful nature.
We pause for lunch at a river resort, with time for a swim, before heading to Baracara Falls. Then it’s back to Parika and on to Georgetown, arriving around 7pm – with time to relax and pack before tomorrow’s journey into the jungle.

Day 5: Into the Jungle – Iwokrama Canopy Walk
After a few easy-paced days, it’s time to venture deep into Guyana’s wild interior.
Your guide picks you up early for the drive south, leaving the coast behind. The road takes us past quiet villages, bauxite tracks, changing landscapes, and endless forest – with possible wildlife sightings along the way. We’ll stop often to stretch, spot animals, or cool off in a river, and enjoy a hearty local lunch before crossing the river by ferry.
By late afternoon, we reach Surama, a welcoming Indigenous (Amerindian) village in the rainforest. Tonight’s stay is in a simple but comfortable eco-lodge, built by locals and full of heart.

Day 6: Wildlife & River Adventure
Wake up to the calls of birds and the hum of the jungle. This morning, join a local guide for a hike through the rainforest—learning which plants heal, which animals to watch for, and how life thrives here.
After lunch, we swap forest trails for the Burro Burro River, gliding silently through lush waterways. With luck, we might spot giant river otters, howler monkeys, and vibrant birdlife. It’s calm, wild, and unforgettable.

Day 7: Return to Georgetown & Free Evening
Before leaving the forest behind, there’s one last magic moment—the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway. Suspended high above the jungle floor, it offers a bird’s-eye view and a quiet chance to soak it all in. Then we hit the road back toward the coast.
About an hour before Georgetown, we pass Splashmin’s Resort, a creekside hideaway perfect for a swim and some downtime. You can choose to stay here for a peaceful last night or continue into the city. Once checked in—wherever you choose—the evening is yours to relax.

By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Atta Lodge, in the heart of the Iwokrama Rainforest Reserve. Run by local Indigenous guides, it’s a warm welcome in the jungle. The evening is yours to relax—or join a night walk to spot nocturnal animals as the forest comes alive.

Day 6: Canopy Walk & River Adventure
At first light, set out from Atta Lodge to the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway. A short forest trail leads to suspension bridges high in the treetops—perfect for birdwatching and seeing the rainforest from a rare perspective.
